Four-Year Bachelors Degree Program - UMass Department of Plant, Soil and Insect Sciences

The UMass Department of Plant, Soil and Insect Sciences turfgrass management major is a four-year program that focuses on the production and maintenance of grassed areas, such as home lawns, parks, athletic fields, and golf courses. This concentration integrates scientific theory with practical experience, and covers such topics as grass and seed identification, turfgrass culture and physiology, pest control, and equipment maintenance. Excellent career opportunities exist in turf management, and job placement of graduates is approximately 100 percent.
