Subject: Stress Diseases

The dry conditions are keeping most turf fungi inactive. Most turf managers are struggling to keep enough water to prevent turf from going dormant. Some stress diseases are appearing, especially in lawns: dollar spot, red thread, and necrotic ring spot. There is some evidence that mid-day syringing (in addition to standard irrigation) will help lawn grasses withstand necrotic ring spot.
