Subject: Nematode Populations, Nematicide Applications

Nematode populations are up higher in some locations than they were last year at this time. To receive the most economical, full-season effect from Nemacur, it should have been put down about June 15th. However, populations are still climbing, and if high nematode populations are confirmed, applications would be warranted up to mid-July. Once August starts, nematode populations other than cysts are usually on the decline. If you had high populations of cyst nematodes last year, an application at the beginning of August would control emerging juveniles.
