Subject: Environmental Stress on Poa

Abiotic, environmental stress problems continue to dominate the disease samples. Effects are seen mostly in Poa annua. Take-all patch in bentgrass and summer patch in Poa annua are causing problems throughout the area. Anthracnose can affect both types of grasses. The sticky spores are easily tracked to new areas. In stressful weather, the disease can quickly move into the basal (crown) rot stage which is difficult to control chemically.
