Subject: Turf Desiccation

There have been many reports of desiccation on golf courses and other turf areas. This is probably due to the long period of time after growth stopped and before the mid-January snowfall. Some of the golf course desiccation may be old symptoms of PCNB (fungicide) injury that took place late last fall in the warmer weather. Both problems should disappear with the first mowing when the weather gets a little warmer. If you want a preview, bring a plug of turf inside for a few days to reassure yourself that things will improve.
