Subject: Armyworm Update

I just received a report indicating that large numbers of armyworm moths were caught in light traps in northwestern Ohio. The report was dated 11 July, and that region may, in about two weeks, experience large numbers of caterpillars similar to the populations seen in New England last year. So far there have been no reports of large numbers of moths or caterpillars from any locations closer to New England ... too early to tell but we may get through the summer relatively quietly.
