Subject: Turf Disease News

This has been a topsy turvy early summer for turf diseases. Cold weather held turf back and extended the time for yellow patch to be active. During this time red thread was active and dollar spot moved in as well. Hot weather hit with a vengeance followed by a touch of Pythium blight and brown patch. Cool weather moved back in and things have settled down a bit but the turf diseases have been a bit challenging to sort out. Be ready for the next round of hot weather because the brown patch and Pythium may move quickly. Nematode populations are not particularly high at this point with a few exceptions.
